1. The angle between the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock when the time is 4.20, is:
A. 0º
B. 10º
C. 5º
D. 20º

Asked In Bank Exam

ANS

ans is b)10 degree
It is 4 hours 20 mins.
Because hour hand moves 30 degree in 1hour.
4:20 = 4 +20/60 = 4+1/3 = 13/3.
So it is 1/3 hours passed so it rotates 10 degree.
Total angle of hours hand is 30*4+10 = 130 degree.

Minute hand moves 6 degree in 1 minute = 20*6 = 120 degree.
So 130-120 = 10 degree.

8. if 5% more is gained by selling an article for rs. 350 then by selling it for rs. 340 the cost of article is.

Asked In Bank Exam

ANS:

Rs 200

Let the cost of article be x

when SP = 350
P% = (350-x)/x*100

when SP = 340
P% = (340-x)/x*100

5% more is gained by selling article for rs. 350 than for 340

(350-x)/x - (340-x)/x = 5/100
10/x = 5/100
x = 200

OR

Alternately

5% more is gained by selling an article for Rs 350 than by selling it for Rs 340
Additional Gain = 350−340 = Rs 10
i.e Rs 10 = 5 % of the cost of the article
Hence Cost of article = 10×100/5 = Rs200

10. A motor starts with the speed of 70 Km/hr with its speed increasing every two hours by 10 Kmph.In how many hours it will cover 345 kms ?

Asked In Bank Exam

ANS:

In 4 hours and 30 minutes it will cover 345kms.

In 1st hour, it finishes = 70km (At the speed of 70km/hr)
In 2nd hour, it finishes = 140km (At the speed of 70km/hr)
Now, after 2 hours it increase speed rate from 70km/hr to 80km/hr.

In 3rd hour, it finishes = 220km (speed of 80km/hr)
In 4th hour, it finishes = 300km (speed of 8okm/hr)
Now, after 2 hours it increase speed rate from 80km/hr to 90km/hr.
Per hour = 90km speed means,
Half n hour = 90/2km => 45km speed.

So, in 4hours 30minutes, it cover 345kms.

A. 250
B. 276
C. 280
D. 285

Asked In Bank Exam

ANS:

D. 285

Explaination : Average of Visitors in Sunday, X = 510
Average of Visitors in Weekdays, Y = 240
Average of Visitors in a month of 30days, Z = ?
If the Month starts with Sunday means, it have 5 sundays and 25 week days.
Therefore, Z = (5X + 25Y)/30
(i.e) 5X = 5(510)
= 2550
24X = 24(240)
= 5760
Z = (2550+5760)/30   = 8310/30 = 285
